Students Learning with Communities



Dr Catherine Bates has been the co-ordinator of DIT’s Programme for Students Learning With Communities ( since 2008. She studied design for her degree and master’s, and did her PhD in sociology. She lectured in design theory and history for ten years. In 2006 she moved to the community sector, where she ran a second-chance education programme for women drug users in rehabilitation, before taking up her current post in DIT.
