Siobhan is an economist who has lectured in Dublin Institute of Technology and previously worked in the Economics Department of NUI Maynooth. Currently Siobhan lectures undergraduate economic courses such as Economy of Ireland and EU Framework and a postgraduate MBA course on Managerial Economics.

Her research interests include environmental and resource economics in particular emissions trading regimes, establishing econometrical models for the voluntary sector and third level education participation and work/life balance issues. She has published in the Land Use Policy Journal, The Economic and Social Review andIrish Banking Review. Siobhan and her co-authors has presented conference papers in Ireland, UK and France. Siobhan was awarded a Walsh Fellowship Award from Teagasc to carry out her MLitt research. Siobhan developed research topics for masters studentships and wrote research proposals to obtain both internal DIT funding and external funding for these projects. To date she has supervised (jointly with Dr. Carol Newman (TCD) and/ Prof. Alan Mathews (TCD)) two masters students by research.
