Food Safety

  • Consultancy Experience- The installation of food safety systems in food businesses.
  • The impact of Software HACCP programmes on the efficacy of Food Safety Management
  • Comparative studies of international Food Safety Management Regulatory systems and their Regulatory Bodies.
  • Assessment of the Added Value of Independent Auditing Bodies

Quality Systems in the Food/Horticultural Industry:

  •  Consultant to An Bord Bia, The Irish National Food Export Board, on the development of commodity  quality manuals. 

Plant Biotechnology:

  • Plant cloning technology, genetic engineering, Plant Intellectual Property Law                    
  • Research Supervisor - Enterprise Ireland Applied Research Programme – Project AR/1996/062 Development of a novel HDPE Pouch for Plant Propagation
  • Co-ordinator of Pan-European research project proposal under EU Biotechnology programme 1994-1998.  The project, on DNA finger printing of ornamental species, will develop cellular and molecular methods to detect genetic diversity rapidly, searching for variation in specific traits of high economic value, materially assisting conservation of biodiversity. (Contract No. Bio-CT97-9080).
  • Co-ordinator of successful Preparatory Award on the Embryogenesis of Oak Material. Funded under EU, Quality of Life Programme 1999-2002. 

Intellectual Property Law :

  • Partner in Pan European Research Project funded under the EU Biotechnology (FP4)     Programme 1994-1998.
