Since 1991, DIT Hothouse has served the needs of Ireland’s emerging entrepreneurs, establishing itself as a leading startup incubator. Notable alumni include Movidius, Mick’s Garage, Smarter Surfaces, Boards.ie, Artomatix and Locatible.
Based in the Greenway Hub in DIT Grangegorman, a short walk from Dublin’s Smithfield area, DIT Hothouse's newly opened, €21 million startup incubator offers training space, hotdesks, own-door offices and state-of-the-art labs. The wider Grangegorman site will be DIT’s new central campus and, following a 10 year re-development, will fully open in 2021. In total, it will host 30,000 students, cost €1 billion and span 75 acres of Dublin city centre.
Since 2007, over 400 sustainable companies have been supported. These total over 1700 jobs, an estimated €170 million in revenue and €195 million in equity investment raised. Many have gone on to achieve further high-profile success – achieving HPSU status, or being awarded Enterprise Ireland Competitive Start Funding (CSF) or Horizon 2020 funding. Others have won prestigious global awards from top firms such as Nvidia and PwC.
