Sleeping rough for charity - DIT student needs your help

Ronan Ward, an MA in Strategic Management student, is going that extra mile for charity by busking and sleeping on Grafton Street to raise €5,000 for the third world charity Goal. He will be on Grafton Street from 9.30 am tomorrow and Ronan has pledged not to move until he collects the entire €5,000.

Ronan hopes that as many DIT staff members and students as possible will lend their support by donating money or by assisting him with his goal. Ronan would also like to invite any musicians, jugglers or other aspiring entertainers to drop down and help entertain the crowd. The Star newspaper and Today FM are lending their backing and have agreed to publicise the event.

According to Ronan, "The money raised is going to save 100's and 100's of lives. As the saying goes 'give a man a fish and you have fed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you have fed him for life'.  The money raised is going towards making people self-sufficient by providing them with livestock and clean water. The offspring of the livestock are then handed to the receivers neighbour and the process continues in a cycle."
