DIT Fine Art Student wins top prize for Rose Project

Alan Burns, a 3rd year student in Fine Art at DIT, has won the €5000 first prize in the Rose Project Student Art Award. One of twelve student artists shortlisted, Alan's work and that of students from art colleges all over Ireland, commemorates the lives lost to the aids pandemic in sub-Saharan Africa, and celebrates the courage, resilience and spirit of those who continue to survive. THE ROSE PROJECT was established to provide medical, nursing and pyscho-social treatment and care to people living with or effected by HIV or AIDS.
