DIT into O'Byrne Cup Quarter final

DIT 2-9 Longford 0-14

The men's Senior Gaelic Footballers made it into the last eight of the O'Byrne Cup when they defeated the Longford county side last Sunday in Longford. DIT were the only 3rd level team to beat their intercounty opponents and as a result are the only college side left in the competition. Their reward is a date with division one outfit and last years Leinster Finalists Offaly in O'Connor park Tullamore this Sunday 14th January at 2pm.

DIT's O'Byrne cup win follows on from a successful league campaign where DIT topped the Leinster Div 1 group, before been beaten in the league semi final by a point by the Garda College. Following the O'Byrne Cup the team's main focus will be on the Sigerson cup where they play the winners of Tralee IT and Sligo IT on valentines day, February 14th. However for now the team are concentrating on Offaly and hoping for a solid team performance against the midlanders. All support welcome.
