Information for prospective students and Guidance Counsellors

05 September 2007:  While the DIT class of 2007 is about to arrive on campus next week, secondary school students are already back at their desks all around the country.  Those in 5th year are deciding on subject choices for the Leaving Cert, while those in their final year will be taking a more specific interest in what choices are available to them at third level.  DIT's Admissions Officer, Vincent O'Hora, encourages students preparing for Leaving Cert to start thinking now about their CAO choices rather than adding to exam pressures later in the year.  'This is a good time to research the kind of programmes that you think would match your interests - the more concrete information you have the easier it will be to make your choice.  Your Guidance Counsellor and the students in the years ahead of you are excellent sources, but you should also browse through the prospectuses for the institutions you would like to attend. The new DIT Prospectus for 2008 has gone to print and copies will be available at the Higher Options conference which is organised by the Irish Times and the Institute of Guidance Counsellors and will take place this year in Dublin's RDS from 19 - 21 September 2007.'

The DIT Open Day will take place on Saturday 01 December in the Aungier Street Campus, and students, parents and guidance counsellors are welcome to visit the stands and to speak to students and academic staff.
