DIT to Host ‘Better Options’ 2009

Dublin Institute of Technology is hosting the 2009 Better Options information event for students with disabilities on Wednesday 10th December from 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm in DIT Aungier Street.

Third Level Institutions from across Ireland will be in attendance to provide information on application procedures, course details and the various supports available for students with disabilities and specific learning difficulties. Students, parents, career guidance counsellors will also be in attendance to talk about their experiences.

‘Better Options’ is organised by the DIT Disability Service in association with AHEAD (Association for Higher Education Access and Disability) and DAWN (Disability Advisors Working Network).   ‘Better Options’ is the only national event providing information on higher education options for students with disabilities. At the event a new DAWN Handbook for lecturers and administrators working with students with disabilities will be launched. The handbook  contains information on the services available to accommodate students with disabilities from the nationwide network of expert disability support officers.
