‘Sustainability and Business’ Symposium


The Faculty of Business and the DIT Sustainability Group are hosting a half-day symposium on Sustainability and Business on Friday morning 4 April 2008 in DIT Aungier Street.

‘A Demand-oriented Perspective on Sustainability’ examines issues of sustainable consumption, corporate citizenship, responsible trade practices and adaptation barriers, e.g. economic, behavioural and informational, and is addressed by three leading international speakers.

Professor Gerard Hastings, University of Stirling, on developing sustainability thinking in organisations and society.

Dr Aileen Ionescu-Somers, Forum for Corporate Sustainability Management, IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland, on implementing sustainability programmes in firms.

Ian Thomson, University of Strathclyde, on measuring the performance of sustainability programmes in companies.
