Launch of DIT/Bolton Trust Enterprise Development Programme


DIT/Bolton Trust Enterprise Development Programme participants with Paul O'Sullivan Director Business Faculty

The DIT/Bolton Trust Enterprise Development Programme which is funded by the Labour Market Activation Fund was launched last week in Docklands Innovation Park. Thirty Jobseekers were selected for the full time programme which includes interactive workshops, mentoring, e-learning, talks by entrepreneurs and networking events.

While being based in the Innovation Park the participants will also have access to the library and other facilities in DIT. ‘Participants have the unique experience of spending four months learning the skills to start a business based in the entrepreneurial environment of Docklands Innovation Park while also having the opportunity to attend lectures and access the facilities in DIT ’ according to Cairin O’Connor, Programme Manager.

Robert Murphy, Labour Market Activation Fund Co-ordinator in DIT, explained ‘The Enterprise Development Programme gives Jobseekers with an idea for starting a business, or those wishing to learn what’s involved in a starting a business, the opportunity to ‘upskill’ in areas such as product development, innovation, social media and online marketing. We are now recruiting for the second Enterprise Programme which will start in January 2011.”
