27th March 2010

Among the class of 2010 in Dublin Institute of Technology are some of the country’s most exciting emerging artists and designers and they would like to invite members of the public to view and experience their work in the annual Graduate Exhibitions starting from 08 June this year. The DIT exhibition is perhaps the most wide-ranging of its kind, given the range of disciplines represented in exhibition and in performance. In the visual arts, visitors are welcome to view the work of graduates of fine art in DIT Portland Row, while the final-year students of visual communications, interior and furniture design, and product design will hold their exhibition in Smithfield Plaza. The graduate photographers will exhibit in the Gallery of Photography, Meeting House Square while the BA Visual Merchandising and Display exhibition will be located in St. Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre. Meanwhile, graduates of music performance will give recitals in DIT Chatham Row and DIT Rathmines and graduates of Media Arts will demonstrate their craft at an invitation-only screening in DIT Aungier Street.

These exhibitions and performances give their fellow students and members of the public an opportunity to glimpse the results achieved by these hard-working young artists, as well as a chance to understand current trends in the visual arts, and the innovation that young designers demonstrate in a cross-disciplinary area such as product design. Don’t miss Graduate Exhibition 2010.
