Mature Student Access Course Open Evening

Following the successful launch of the Mature Student Access Course in DIT last year, applications are now invited for entry in September 2010.  To help prospective applicants to decide if this course is for them, an Open Evening will take place in DIT Bolton Street next Tuesday, 18 May, will take place from 5.30 pm in Room 218.

According to Will Peters, Course Co-ordinator, the Open Evening is aimed at potential applicants, guidance counsellors, jobs facilitators, adult education and training providers, and community organisations.  The programme for the evening will include four short talks, as follows:

  • Introduction  to the work of DIT - Cathy McCartney, DIT Mature Student Recruitment Officer
  • Overview of the Access Course - Will Peters, Course Co-ordinator
  • The student experience - Helen McMahon and Debbie Henvey, both current students
  • DIT Support Services for Mature Students - Bob O'Mhurcu (Mature student support officer)

Members of staff will be available to answer questions during and after the talks.

Tea and coffee will be served from 17:15 and anyone interested in this course is most welcome to attend.
