Féile Rith 2010

Tá Oifig na Gaeilge, an Cumann Gaelach agus an Oifig Spóirt, DIT ag lorg do chabhair! Cuirfear tús i mbliana le féile nua – RITH 2010, ollrith náisiúnta ón 9 – 17 Márta, mar chuid d’imeachtaí Sheachtain na Gaeilge. Tá an Institiúid tar éis urraíocht a dhéanamh ar chiliméadar den rás agus tá muid ag lorg baill foirne agus mic léinn chun an ciliméadar a rith inar dteannta.

Oifig na Gaeilge, DIT’s Irish language office; an Cumann Gaelach; the Irish language student society and DIT Sports need your help! This year a new national festival called RITH 2010, a 9 day relay run, will take place as part of the Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations from the 9th – 17th March 2010. DIT has sponsored 1 kilometre of the race and we need staff and students to run the kilometre with us!

Tá cúrsa 1600km leagtha amach chun ollrith sealaíochta a dhéanamh ó Bhéal Feirste go Gaillimh thar 9 lá leis na mílte duine ag glacadh páirte ann tríd 250 baile ar fud na tíre. Beidh baitín sealaíochta lámh-dhearaithe speisialta le teachtaireacht folaithe istigh ann ó Uachtarán na hÉireann, Máire Mhic Giolla Íosa á iompar ag RITH 2010 ó thus go deireadh. Léifear amach an teachtaireacht tacaíochta seo don Ghaeilge ar Lá Fhéile Pádraig i nGaillimh. Is slí úrnua é Rith 2010 chun teanga agus cultúr na Gaeilge a cheiliúradh ar shráideanna agus ar bhóithre na tíre agus chun airgead á bhailiú do thionscnaimh Ghaeilge atá pobal bhunaithe.

A 1600 km course has been set for a 9-day relay run from Belfast to Galway with thousands of people taking part in over 250 towns and villages across the country. A special hand-carved baton has been designed that will carry a message throughout RITH 2010 written by President Mary McAleese, which will be read out as part of the St. Patrick's Day parade in Galway. RITH 2010 is a brand new way to visibly celebrate the Irish language and culture on the streets and roads of the country while also raising money for community-based Irish language projects.

Beidh ciliméadar DIT á rith againn tríd Barra an Teampaill ar tráthnóna Déardaoin 11 Márta. Casfaimid ar a chéile taobh amuigh den Palace Bar, Sráid na Toinne (Fleet St.) ag 7.30i.n lenar gciliméadar a rith agus beidh ceol agus siamsaíocht curtha ar fáil i gCearnóg Theach an Tionóil, Barra an Teampaill mar chuid de cheiliúradh RITH 2010.
