Roadmap for partnerships between education and industry

A conference taking place in Farmleigh on 23 September aims to identify the understanding and the actions necessary to develop more extensive and meaningful engagement between higher education institutions and industry and wider society. The conference, which will be opened by the Minister for Lifelong Learning, Sean Haughey TD, is being organised as a project of the Roadmap for Employer - Academic Partnerships (REAP). The theme - Scope, Management and Measurement of External Engagement – will be debated by participants, including leaders from industry, Higher Education Institutions, the Departments of Education and Skills and Enterprise Trade and Employment, the HEA as well as other State bodies.

Keynote presentations will be delivered by Mike Devane of the American Chamber of Commerce, Professor Eamonn Murphy of the University of Limerick and Professor Jose-Gines Mora, of the University of London and Valencia University of Technology.

REAP is a collaborative project funded through the Higher Education Authority’s Strategic Innovation Fund. The project partners are Athlone Institute of Technology, Cork Institute of Technology, Dublin Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology, Sligo, Institute of Technology Tallaght, Dublin, National University of Ireland Galway, University College Cork and Waterford Institute of Technology.
