DIT Hothouse ‘Be Inspired, Be an Entrepreneur’

11th November 2011: The DIT Hothouse ‘Be Inspired, Be an Entrepreneur’ series continued this week with guest speaker Richard Nash, Managing Director of Nash Wines, interviewed live on stage by MC Conall O' Móraín, presenter of the Business Show on Today FM. Richard recalled his experiences of taking over the family business, Nash’s Wines, which lead to the introduction of one Ireland’s iconic brands, Ballygowan Mineral Water which revolutionised the Irish beverage industry.

Joining Richard on stage were two young Irish entrepreneurs who recently graduated from DIT Hothouse Venture Programme for start-ups: Ian Lucey, founder & CEO of Cloud Computing specialists, Lucey Technology and Derek Gallagher, founder of Mylunch.ie.

The next Be Inspired event takes place on Tuesday 29th November with guest speaker, Cathal Gaffney, founder of Brown Bag Films, who were Oscar nominated for their animated films Granny O’Grimm and Give Up Yer Oul Sins.

'Be Inspired, Be an Entrepreneur'which is organised by DIT Hothouse and sponsored by Dublin City Enterprise Board. 'Be Inspired, Be Entrepreneur' is part of Innovation Dublin 2011, which takes place across Dublin from Oct 17th to Nov 18th. The festival demonstrates Dublin’s capacity to inspire, interact and innovate.
