Introduction

In the past 30 years or so, Information Communications Technology (ICT) has led to the transformation in business practices. However, traditionally in the construction industry the nature of communications is fragmented due mainly to the one-off nature of construction projects and locations. The bringing together of new project teams, construction clients and other stakeholders is also a constant challenge, in striving for efficient deployment of ICT. The role of ICT is becoming more and more important in construction projects, from design, procurement, installation and operation maintenance of projects.

This unique course is delivered online primarily with the student having a wide degree of choice in regard to module choice. All candidates will need to complete 10 modules, of which there are four obligatory modules; Introduction to Construction Informatics; Research Studies; Integrated Master Project and Dissertation. The remaining 6 modules
are elective comprising basic modules and extended project modules. Modules can be awarded separately (5 ECTS Credit Module Certificates).
