In Memory of Ciaran King

This travel scholarship has been established in memory of the late Ciaran King and in recognition of his work in renewable energy.

In particular, Ciaran King made a significant contribution to the development of specialist tools and techniques for analysing the wind resource. Ciaran King was an engineer by profession and after graduating he undertook volunteer work in Zambia. Upon returning to Ireland he was involved in academic research and also lectured at DIT.  At the turn of the millennium he established his own business and was engaged in many national forums on energy and environmental matters. His legacy continues to be visible, with an extensive collection of papers and reports appreciated by a wide range of practitioners including architects, engineers, environmentalists and planners.
