8 February 2013: Check out DIT at CareerZoo this Saturday

DIT sponsoring this year's Career Zoo

Registrations are ramping up for the Career Zoo jobs exhibition on this Saturday in Dublin’s Convention Centre, in what the organisers say will be the biggest to date. More than 9,000 visitors attended the last CareerZoo in September 2012, with similar demand anticipated for the upcoming 9 February event.  This year there will be a strong focus on the importance of education, upskilling and conversion courses with many of Ireland’s leading educators in attendance, giving advice and guidance to candidates.  These will include DIT!   Indeed, DIT is one of the lead sponsors of  this year's Career Zoo event for graduates and professionals.  As part of our sponsorship package DIT will be running a number of workshops for attendees on the day including:

12:00 -13:00         App Factory with DIT

Learn how to build an app in an hour. First-come-first-served session - just bring yourself.

16:00 -16:30         Career Opportunities in & Upskilling for a Career the Pharma & Med Tech Sectors in Ireland

This presentation will be given by Declan McCormack, Head, School of Chemical & Pharmaceutical Sciences, DIT and Sinéad Keogh, DIT Graduate & Senior Executive Irish Medical Devices Association

In addition, DIT is running a promotion whereby if you apply for your DIT programme there on the day your application fees will be waived. In addition, 2 lucky students who sign up for a DIT programme at Career Zoo will have their TUITION FEES WAIVED on registration.

Frank Costello, Head of Admissions, DIT said:  “Career Zoo is a very valuable opportunity for job seekers to have their needs meet in one venue and employers seeking a skilled and talented workforce to fill vacancies and applicants to understand the needs and skills required of them. This is where DIT comes in. We have a multiplicity of short, medium and longer programmes for people to upskill and convert their expertise to build their careers. In fact DIT is close to that very real world of providing those skills to the Irish workforce.”
