DIT Culinary Arts lecturer Dermot Seberry short-listed for Best in the World cookery book award

20 February, 2014: DIT Culinary Arts lecturer, graduate and author Dermott Seberry has been short-listed in not one but two categories for a major international award. Dermot Seberry's 'Ireland – A Culinary Journey in the North East,' book was nominated in both local cuisine and culinary travel sections of the Best in the World in 2014 Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.   His is one of only 13 Irish cook books to make the shortlist for the 'Best in the World' at the awards, which will take place in China during the Beijing Cookbook Fair, 19-21 May.

Speaking of his nomination, Dermot who launched the beautiful travel cuisine book last November said 'I am thrilled to have been nominated for these prestigious awards, and it is by far the highest accolade I could win.'  The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards celebrate global cookbook and wine book publishing and it features many world renowned chefs each year.

The stunning coffee table book entitled “Ireland – A Culinary Journey in the North-East”, features mouth-watering recipes and cooking tips from well-known restaurants and food suppliers in the North East.
