DIT Student claims idea of the year award

Minister Ruairí Quinn in DIT to recognise innovative ideas of students

13 March, 2014:   The Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairí Quinn TD was in DIT last night to recognise innovative ideas of students.  The Minister for Education was the guest of honour at the annual Student Idea of the Year Awards 2014 which was hosted by the College of Business, DIT on behalf of The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT).  An annual competition run by the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport, the Student Idea of the Year awards recognise college students with innovative ideas and concepts that may make a contribution to the logistics and transport industry. 

The overall winner of this year’s competition was Stephen Sweeney from the BSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management programme in the School of Management, DIT.  Stephen claimed the award for his idea "Pallet Cargo Protection System".
