From Hong Kong to Ireland: concert for St. Patrick’s WeekPosted: 3 March, 2015
On 16 March, as part of celebrations for St Patrick's week, the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama will present a very special collaborative performance of Chinese traditional and Irish traditional music.
The Conservatory is delighted to welcome three visiting students from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts - Pui Yee Shiu, Kai Him Chan and Fung Lim To. The students are all performers of Chinese traditional music and their instruments are the pipa (Chinese lute), erhu (Chinese fiddle) and dizi (Chinese flute).
During their visit the students will take part in a workshop with the DIT Irish Traditional Music Ensemble, followed by a lunchtime concert in the Rathmines Public Library. The concert will feature Chinese traditional music, Irish traditional music and a few collaborative pieces.
