Professor Lloyd Scott honoured for Teaching Excellence

Professor Lloyd Scott, School of Surveying and Construction Management in DIT, was honoured last week by his peers in the international construction education and research group, Associated Schools of Construction (ASC). Professor Scott was presented with the 2015 Teaching Excellence Award during the ASC annual conference

The Association’s 51st Annual Research and Education conference was hosted by Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.  The theme of the conference was “Future Tech: Changing Construction Practices”.  Papers presented at the conference looked at how new technologies can be used to improve productivity in the construction industry, and how construction educators can prepare students to become the future leaders of the industry.

Lloyd Scott is Academic Advisor and Partnership Coordinator for the School of Surveying and Construction Management, where he has held a number of roles.  He has been International Team Coach for successive DIT teams entering the ASC Design Build competition with University of Oklahoma.   Professor Scott’s research concerns the education of Built Environment students with a strong emphasis on sustainable construction methods.
