The DIT Irish Traditional Music Ensemble, directed by Odhrán Ó Casaide, Kieran Hanrahan and Tom Doorley, is developed in an innovative and challenging way, resulting in musical performances and recordings that are at the forefront of the musical tradition today. Recent highlights include performances at the iDig Music Festival (Convention Centre), on RTÉ Radio 1’s Céilí House, the Opening Concert of the prestigious Temple Bar TradFest!, collaborative performances with the China Conservatory of Music, the Korean Embassy of Ireland and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco, a live radio and online broadcast for National Music Day with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, and tours of Louvain (Belgium), Rome and Savannah, Georgia, USA.

The traditional ensemble will be joined on stage by the DIT Early Music Ensemble, directed by Laoise O’Brien. The early music ensemble performs on modern instruments as well as on period instruments such as recorder, baroque violin, gamba, baroque guitar, archlute, harpsichord and fortepiano. Great collaborative energy has built up between the Irish traditional and early music ensembles at DIT, who perform together regularly and have recorded an album together titled, Flow My Tears
