DIT Surveying Graduates Successful in Prague

Two recent DIT graduates Ana Rata and Philip Bell represented the DIT School of Surveying and Construction Management at the 2015 General Assembly of the Construction Economists of the European Community (CEEC) which took place in Prague.

They were invited to present the findings of their final year dissertations to an international judging panel and were awarded  2nd and 3rd place respectively in the prestigious CEGA competition, sponsored by Saint-Gobain. 

A graduate of the MSc in Applied Construction Cost Management, Ana’s research topic was entitled "The Integration of the Life Cycle Costing (LCC) and Life Costing Analysis (LCA) into a Holistic Analysis: Ireland, Sweden and Norway. Ana is currently working as a Quantity Surveyor in Dublin with Austin Reddy and Associates.

Philip has graduated with a BSc in Construction Economics and Management and is now working as a quantity surveyor in Switzerland with ECAS AG.  His winning presentation concerned "An Appraisal of Project Benchmarking as an Effective Cost Planning Tool within the Construction Industry".

They were accompanied by their lecturer and mentor, Charles Mitchell.
