Innovative programme aims to develop young people through SportPosted: 4 June, 2015
Twenty young people from Warrenmount School and local youth clubs celebrated their graduation from the ‘Developing Young People through Sport’ programme last month.
Working with Warrenmount School and Dublin City Council, the DIT Sports team designed and ran the innovative programme which was aimed at young people between 15 and 18 years of age who don’t have easy access to fitness facilities. The participants came to the Fit2Go gym in DIT Kevin Street where they had the opportunity to take part in a range of activities including dance, aquatic sports, snorkeling, kayaking, and gym fitness. As part of the programme, they also learnt about nutrition and undertook First Aid training.
DIT Sports would like to thank Dublin City Council and Warrenmount School for their support in delivering the programme which was kindly supported by a grant from The Ireland Funds.
