The greening of Grangegorman campusPosted: 10 August, 2015
Students returning to DIT Grangegorman in September will be delighted to see how much the landscaping has progressed since they left in June, and especially to see the grass pitches taking shape.
The all-weather pitch, tennis courts and basketball court will be ready for use in September. Students who play rugby, soccer and GAA will wish they could access the beautiful full size grass pitch which is now growing well, but it takes more than one year for a pitch to be seeded and prepared for use, so they will have to wait till the end of 2016 before the first match can take place.
Other additions to the campus for September will include day-time access through the entrance at the Park Shopping Centre entrance on Prussia Street and a new entrance at Fingal Place off Manor Street.
Meanwhile, the new Greenway Hub is close to completion and will open in January 2016, providing excellent research and laboratory facilities for the Environmental Sustainability and Health Institute (ESHI). DIT Hothouse will also be located in the Greenway Hub, offering business incubation spaces for start-up companies.
