Two International eLearning Awards for DITPosted: 25 September, 2015
Two DIT initiatives have won top prizes at the International eLearning Association Awards (iELA) which took place in Florence this week, against strong competition from universities in the USA, Germany, Australia and Greece.
The Learning Teaching and Technology Centre (LTTC) won the award in the eLearning category for its online CPD module ‘Technology Enhanced Learning, Teaching & Assessment’ (TELTA), while The 12 Apps of Christmas online course won the Mobile Learning category awards. Congratulations to DIT colleagues Dr. Pauline Rooney and Dr. Frances Boylan for putting these submissions together. Both projects are also shortlisted for awards to be announced next month in the UK.
About DIT TELTA:
DITTELTA is for anyone interested in experiencing, exploring and learning more about existing and emerging learning technologies. A unique approach is taken to this course in that participants will be required to set their own personal learning objectives at the outset, thereby enabling them to reflect on the weekly topics from their own professional perspectives. This approach will also give participants the opportunity to develop their personal learning networks as they discuss meaningfully, with like-minded peers, how technologies could be utilised to enhance learning, teaching and assessment experiences. This module is now open for registration and will start on October 21st for 8 weeks.
About The 12 Apps of Christmas:
The 12 Apps of Christmas 2014 was for anyone interested in learning more about integrating mobile learning technologies into their learning, teaching and assessment practices. With 700 participants worldwide, it ran for 12 consecutive weekdays showcasing 12 apps and how they can be used effectively for learning and teaching purposes. The 12 Apps of Christmas will be running again this year, starting Tuesday December 1st. Keep an eye on #12appsDIT in early November for registration details.
