Posted: 7 October, 2015

Joe Kindregan, former Assistant Head of the School of Civil and Structural Engineering in DIT, has been elected as Vice President of the Institution of Structural Engineers.

The Institution of Structural Engineers is recognised as the world's leading professional body for structural engineering, with over 27,000 members throughout the world. Joe's election to the position of Vice President is a great personal honour, and also recognises the contribution that Dublin Institute of Technology has made to the profession with its graduates involved in structural engineering projects throughout the world.

Dublin Institute of Technology in Bolton Street has had a long association with the Institution of Structural Engineers, from staging their professional examinations to presenting courses and evening lectures. Over many years, Joe has facilitated this association, serving as Republic of Ireland Branch Chairman in addition to several appointments to the Council of the Institution.

Joe's term of office commences in January 2016 and his colleagues in DIT wish him every success.
