The DIT Irish Traditional Music Ensemble is developed in an innovative and challenging way, resulting in musical performances and recordings that are at the forefront of the musical tradition today.

Recent highlights include performances on RTÉ Radio 1’s Céilí House, the Dublin International Game Music Festival, the Opening Concert of the prestigious Temple Bar TradFest, collaborative performances with the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, China Conservatory of Music, the Chinese Embassy of Ireland, the Moroccan Embassy of Ireland, and the Korean Embassy of Ireland, a live radio and online broadcast for National Music Day with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, a televised O2 Arena performance with the Notre Dame Marching Band. The ensemble will be joined on stage by the DIT Early Music Ensemble, who perform on modern instruments as well as on period instruments such as recorder, baroque violin, gamba, baroque guitar, archlute, harpsichord and fortepiano. The Irish traditional and early music ensembles at DIT perform together regularly and have recorded an album together titled, Flow My Tears.
