Irish Language Classes, Training & Conversation Groups in DIT Spring 2017

A new term of Free Irish Classes for DIT Staff & Students will begin shortly and join us for Conversation Groups and Irish Language Training and Events throughout this semester.

IRISH LANGUAGE CLASSES:

Classes will be provided at 5 different levels, from Complete Beginners to Higher Intermediate and will take place at lunch times and evenings across 5 DIT campuses. Highly skilled tutors will deliver the conversation based classes following the European Certificate in Irish* qualifications curricula.

The classes will begin the week of Monday 30th January and will last for 8 weeks until the week of the 20th March 2017 and you can Register here

*The European Certificate in Irish (www.teg.ieis a qualification system for adult learners of Irish that is linked to the 'Common European Framework of Reference for Languages' and there are 6 levels available from A1 (Absolute Beginners) to C2 (Advanced 2) and examinations take place in various venues across the country during the year.

IRISH LANGUAGE TRAINING:

The ‘Practical Irish in the Workplace 1’ training course will begin on Thursday, 9th February for 4 weeks, in DIT Aungier St. from 11.30-1p.m in Room 4-069. The 4 weeks course is aimed at DIT Staff wishing to develop Service Provision through Irish across DIT.

The Official Languages Act requires that Public Bodies increase the volume and standard of services available in Irish over a period of time. This training course develops practical Irish language skills through role play scenarios for example; discusses the role of Irish in the workplace and highlights the main obligations on Public Bodies under the Official Languages Act and you can Register here

IRISH LANGUAGE CONVERSATION GROUPS:

‘Caife & Gaeilge’ – Irish Language Conversation Groups will come together one morning a week in Aungier St, Bolton St, Cathal Brugha St. and Grangegorman from Tuesdays to Thursdays beginning the 1st February from 10.50 / 11a.m. The conversation groups are informal, they meet at coffee break and are an ideal opportunity to practise and develop your spoken Irish.
