The School of Creative Arts was delighted to welcome Dyson to our design studios in Grangegorman for a workshop on Wednesday 26th of April.

Dyson Design Workshop

Joe Hodgetts, Design Engineer at Dyson, spoke about the Dyson design process which has produced several revolutionary products, and in particular focused on the development of the recently launched Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer. 25 Product Design students working in teams of 5 were then challenged to come up with Dyson style innovations in the areas of Health, Education, Mobility, Public Spaces and the Environment.

DIT has an established relationship with Dyson and in recent years several DIT Product Design students have gone on to work as Design Engineers at Dyson and a number have been finalists in the annual James Dyson Awards.
