Liminal Acts: 2017 DIT Photography Graduate ExhibitionPosted: 19 May, 2017
The School of Media at the Dublin Institute of Technology is pleased to announce details of the 2017 DIT BA Photography Graduate Exhibition Liminal Acts.
Julia Delatowska, BA Photography graduate, 2017: Topography of Silence
The concept of liminality has been identified by this group of students as a feature or characteristic in many of their photographic projects, manifesting itself variously between concept, format and mode of presentation. Ann Curran, Programme Chair of the BA Photography programme, said the Graduate Exhibition is a rite of passage, which records these liminal acts., "Some students have focused on spaces or sites that are themselves liminal in terms of materiality while others have photographed transitional places between specific physical locations. Some projects invoke particular psychological states that are everywhere and nowhere, while others seek to represent the in-between knowledge derived from embodied experience, performance and lived memory."
Liminal Acts at the Gallery of Photography, Temple Bar will be opened by Ruairí Ó Cuív, Public Art Manager, Dublin City Council on Tuesday 6th June at 6pm. The exhibition will be open to the public from 03 - 18 June 2017.
