Posted: 30 June, 2017

Dr Una Hunt of the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama was announced as the Bronze winner of the documentary category at the prestigious 2017 New York Festivals International Radio Awards in June 2017.

Dr Hunt won the New York Festivals International Radio Bronze Award for her wonderful programme she presented and produced, John Beckett, the Man and his Music. The documentary was originally aired on Lyric FM last year and sound supervision on the programme was by Ben Rawlins, Sound Engineer at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama.

John Beckett, the Man and his Music is a tribute to the harpsichordist, multi-instrumentalist, conductor, composer, broadcaster and teacher who introduced the Dublin public to Bach’s cantatas and exerted a unique influence on the development of period-performance style. Contributors include Beckett’s biographer, Charles Gannon, Lindsay Armstrong, Andrew and Jenny Robinson, Nicholas Anderson, and Honor O’Brolchain.
