On Friday 8th September, Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) will be awarded the ISO 50001:2011 Energy Management Systems Standard accreditation.

This international best practice certificate is awarded to organisations that demonstrate a strategic commitment to managing energy needs efficiently.

Looking forward to the presentation, DIT President, Professor Brian Norton said the award of ISO 50001:2011 certification is a tribute to the determination of colleagues in DIT Estates to maximise sustainability in all areas.  “In particular, I would like to congratulate Darragh Power and Stephen Folan who worked tirelessly over the last 18 months to meet the high standards required to achieve this award.”

“DIT is passionate about sustainability and today’s certification is just one example of the work we are doing to achieve our vision of a sustainable campus for all of our students and staff. Of course, our most exciting project is the creation of a new campus here in Grangegorman, where environmental concerns have been at the forefront of design and building plans”.
