PARK(ing) Day 2017 at Grangegorman

Posted: 14 September, 2017

This Friday, 15 September, is Dublin Park(ing) Day!

This creative idea means that on-street car parking spaces are turned into pop-up public parks, games or art installations for one day every year in September. Park(ing) Day is "intended to promote creativity, civic engagement, critical thinking, unscripted social interactions, generosity and play."

So, Conor Sreenan, Senior Architect at the Grangegorman Development Agency(GDA) has got a group of DIT and GDA colleagues to help take over a car parking space right outside the Grangegorman Lower entrance to the DIT campus. "This Friday, 15th September between 13:00 - 15:00, we are transforming a car parking space into a public space.  We will be at Grangegorman Lwr entrance building a frame, playing Jenga, drawing and eating oranges. It's a modest initiative - to promote unscripted social engagement and increase awareness of the Grangegorman project and we hope lots of people will drop by and join in!"

All part of a city-wide event, see more here -
