Céad Míle Fáilte to all DIT International Students

Posted: 20 September, 2017

At the start of each academic year, students from all over the world begin their studies in DIT and our International Office works hard to ensure these students get the best possible welcome.

This year’s week of fun and informative activities began with a meet and greet session in Dublin Airport, where students met with the International Office staff and received advice to help them get their new life started in Dublin. The working week officially started when over 400 students attended a special Induction session for international students where they learned more about DIT, the various services offered by Campus Life, clubs, societies and the social side of studying in Dublin.

Students were offered tours of all the main campuses throughout the week and special ID card collection events were scheduled in Aungier Street so they could get registered for all DIT services. All students were invited to take part in the Dublin Bus tour and an excursion to Malahide Castle providing a snapshot of what Dublin has to offer.

The week ended with two of the most popular local activities – a big Irish breakfast and GAA! Students were provided with a full demonstration of football and hurling from the DIT GAA society followed by a hearty breakfast served with all the trimmings and a tour of the new DIT Campus in Grangegorman.

The week was an enormous success, with the DIT International Office wishing to thank all of the staff involved who made these students' first week in DIT and Dublin so welcoming and fun.
