Leading water experts in Europe visit DIT GrangegormanPosted: 17 October, 2017
DIT hosted a two-day meeting for EurAqua, the European Network of Freshwater Research Organisations, which comprises the national representative bodies for water management throughout the EU, European Economic Area and Switzerland.
On 25-26 October, over 25 delegates from across Europe gathered in the Environmental Sustainability and Health Institute in DIT Grangegorman to review progress in European water management, water infrastructural developments, the direction of water research initiatives across Europe and the science-based development of EU water policy.
EurAqua contributes substantially to the development of European freshwater science and technology and its dissemination on a European scale, thus having a significant input on the sustainability and development of European water management. EurAqua consists of 25 partner institutes from 22 countries including EU Member States, plus Norway and Switzerland. The EurAqua partner institutions are leading, often public, freshwater research institutions and extensively support national policies and policy research, as well as water businesses.
The Environmental Sustainability and Health Institute at DIT is a member of EurAqua.
