DIT will play host to the 2017 Countess Markievicz Lecture on Friday, 1st December at 1.30 pm. The event, in its 41st year, is organised by the Irish Association for Industrial Relations.

Countess Markievicz was first Minister for Labour of the newly independent Irish State.

The object of the Memorial Lecture is to provide an occasion for a substantive contribution to the discussion of Industrial Relations by a distinguished practitioner or academic. Many high profile speakers have given the lecture in the past including former President Mary Robinson, Bertie Ahern, Des Geraghty, John Kelly, Bill Roche and Paul Teague.
