DIT win their 13th CFAI finalPosted: 8 March, 2018
On Tuesday, DIT beat Athlone IT in a one-goal thriller in Eamonn Deacy Park to claim their 13th RUSTLERS Colleges Football Association of Ireland (CFAI) Cup.
It was a close match as both sides had plenty of chances; however, DIT’s best goal prospect in the opening half fell to Adam Harney who picked up the pieces of a blocked Darragh Noone free kick to test Cathal Mannion.
The Dublin side began the second half the brighter side with Joe Doyle having many efforts that forced Mannion into several smart saves, however, it was Jordi Ebanda capitalised on a quick corner routine with 15 minutes remaining to score the only goal of the game for DIT. Commenting on the news, Gavin Fleming, Manager of the DIT side said it was a well-deserved win. "I am delighted for the lads, they are a great team that works well together and have been an absolute pleasure to train all year."
